Mark Haugen

Mark Haugen has served on the BEC-MN Board of Directors since 2016. He is currently the Senior Specifier at Ryan A+E; Ryan Companies, US based in their Minneapolis home office. Mark has over 40 years in architecture, engineering, and design-build construction, holding several roles from his early draftsman days to Project Manager, and office Quality Assurance/Quality Control Director. He has worked on a wide variety of building types from single-family and multi-family housing to national retail and hospitality roll-outs, distribution centers, corporate campuses, convention centers, and international airports.

H. Peter Golter

P.E., FICRI 3M BEC-MN Vice Chair

Peter has 30+ years of experience in the construction industry working for manufacturers, consultants, contractors, and design/build firms. Currently part of 3M Building & Construction Specified Products team focusing on the building envelope. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Real Estate Broker, is an active member in various professional associations including (ICRI, ABAA, BEC-MN, and CSI), and has chaired several technical committees as well as authored numerous technical papers, articles, and presentations.

Kevin Slattery

Kevin Slatter has been with Edwards Sales for over 32 years. Edwards Sales represents DuPont (formerly Dow) for Styrofoam brand extruded polystyrene, Thermax polyiso, BASF Spray Foam, 3M Air Barriers, Tremco Sealants and waterproofing, GE Silicones, and Knight Wall System cladding attachments.

Mark Swanson

AIA, CSI, LEED BD+C, NCARB, International Masonry Institute, BEC-MN Board Member

Mark Swanson, AIA, CSI, LEED AP BD+C, is a Licensed Architect, and LEED Accredited Professional. As the Minnesota Area Director of the International Masonry Institute, Mark provides technical consultations, plan reviews, jobsite troubleshooting and AIA continuing education seminar presentations to the design community. Working with Revit since 2005, Mark is involved with the National BIM for Masonry workgroup working to raise the bar for Building Information Modeling content for masonry. He has lectured at Georgia Tech’s digital design laboratory, the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies Construction Management Program and teaches a masonry workshop at the University of Minnesota College Of Design’s School of Architecture.

Kelley Casey

LEED AP, Mead & Hunt, BEC-MN Board Member

Kelley has been active with BEC-MN for nearly a decade, serving as Vice Chair, Board Member, Technical Committee Member, and presenter at events. He has over 30 years of experience in Construction Administration, masonry façade and building enclosure design, and QA/QC for national and international A/E firms. He is currently a Construction Project Administrator ABE in Aviation.

Joel has over 25 years of building enclosure experience working for various architectural, engineering and construction management firms.

Company and Project Quality Manager for several years overseeing Federal, Hospital, Commercial, Mixed Use/Multi-Family, and Condo Projects with an emphasis on Building Enclosure, Life Safety, and Acoustical Systems.

Ryan Kohl

Ryan is a building enclosure consultant and specializes in the design, evaluation, and repair of building enclosure systems. His work includes technical design peer review, construction observation and troubleshooting, field testing, moisture intrusion investigation, enclosure repair and restoration design, and thermal & moisture analysis.

With a background that ranges from concept to construction, Tyson brings a passion in merging design and construction to deliver projects both well conceived and well detailed. Since 2005, he has helped to advance Snow Kreilich’s sustainable design initiatives,
project management protocols, and construction administration excellence across all projects. As Director of Design Delivery, he is the firm’s leading voice for proper documentation, technical and construction excellence, project specification coordination,
and construction administration. He also leads the studio’s
QA/QC process to ensure integration across all disciplines.
