Cold Weather Construction
This presentation will be an In-Person Event, Wednesday, November 13th at 8:00-9:30am.
The BEC will be hosting a panelist discussion on best practices for construction during the cold winter months.
This session looks through the lenses of a project team’s perspective (owner’s representative, architect, consultant, and general contractor) to deliver a project on time and within budget. Case studies will be examined to discover how Minnesota’s weather impacts year-round construction from design to occupancy. Attendees will learn how Minnesota’s weather has an impact on the 6-sides of a building including: design, constructability, critical path, means and methods, material/system selections, sustainability, quality control/assurance, and ultimately the health, safety, and welfare of the building and the constituents within it.
This discussion will be Moderated by Peter Golter, with a panel containing Chris Bubser (architects), Kelley Casey (owner’s representative), Casey Gordon (general contractor), and Ryan Krug (consultant).
